The Maro Valley and Borgomaro area is a real paradise for hiking and trekking enthusiasts. There are numerous trails of varying lengths and popularity that wind through centuries-old olive groves, chestnut woods, ancient mills and small rural villages, offering hikers glimpses of extraordinarily beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views stretching from the mountain ridges to the Ligurian Sea.
Each trail has its own purpose: the mule track that led to the oil mill, the path that connected the votive chapels, the road that linked the villages for the oil trade. Furthermore, thanks to the generally mild temperatures of the Maro Valley, most of these trails are passable in optimal conditions practically all year round.
