As soon as you arrive in our valleys, it becomes clear what the main resource is: the hills behind Imperia are rich in centuries-old olive trees, from which a delicious oil is made, praised for its delicacy by all the great chefs in Italy and the rest of the world. In every small town you can find at least 10 small oil mills or oil producers, still today the makers of small precious productions. The best season to visit them is certainly that of the harvest, which usually runs from November to February, when it is possible to watch the oil-making process live. However, every moment is the right one: even if you visit during the rest of the year, our colleagues and friends oil producers will help you discover their truly fascinating world rich in traditions.
Prices for visits to the mills and walks among the olive trees start from € 10,00 per person. During the harvest period, it is possible to organize special days in which you will experience the thrill of the millers’ work, from the beating to the finished product (prices on request).
