Pieve di Teco Is Now Officially One of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages

Pieve di Teco has just received a recognition that marks a historic milestone: it is now officially one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. A title that is not merely an aesthetic award, but the symbol of a vibrant and authentic place, capable of telling centuries of history through its arcades, narrow alleys and charming squares. And we have been trying to tell you that for quite some time now. 😉

Of course, it is not the Cinque Terre. It will not overwhelm you at first glance with bright colors and dramatic cliffside views.

No — because Pieve is not a village to be rushed through. It is a place to experience, to breathe in, to listen to. Every corner tells stories of people, traditions and landscapes intertwined like pages of a timeless travel diary.

A Recognition That Celebrates History and Community

The association I Borghi più Belli d’Italia does not reward beauty alone. It celebrates heritage preservation, cultural vitality and the warmth of the local community. Pieve di Teco, with its medieval arcades, historic churches and the remarkable Teatro Salvini, perfectly embodies this philosophy. Every alley, every archway, every artisan shop tells the story of a village that preserves the charm of the past while fully embracing the present.

Between Nature and Tradition

Beyond its history, the village is surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of the Alta Valle Arroscia. Ancient mule tracks, beech forests and chestnut groves create the perfect setting for those who love slow walks immersed in nature.

And shall we talk about the focaccia from Ferrari Bakery? Honestly, that alone deserved an award years ago. 😉

An Invitation to Discover the Village

Being named one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages is now the official invitation: if you were hesitating, if you saved it on Google Maps thinking “maybe next time, if we’re passing by”… well, now is the time.

Stroll beneath the arcades, greet the artisans emerging from their historic workshops, pause in the square just to listen to the wind moving through the alleys.

Take a little more than just a fleeting moment as you wander through the caruggi of this small village. Admire the grandeur of its portals, the intricate details carved into the slate, and the impressive architecture crafted by the magistri antelami.

Joining the list of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages is a prestigious and well-deserved achievement for Pieve di Teco. It reminds us that beauty is not only found in postcard-perfect views, but in a village’s ability to share its history, culture and soul with those who visit — a place that, now more than ever, remains in the hearts of those who discover it.
